SAMPLE ANSWER: 257 Words Band 6.0 to 6.5
We planned and wrote this essay in class as a group, the grammar is good because I was assisting in the writing process. I tried to keep the vocabulary as simple as possible but added a couple of less common expressions to get us up towards the 6.5 band. We made sure to follow our plan so we don't move away from the topic, and we tried to connect each paragraph and sentence to the next so the essay is cohesive.
Many believe that the best time of their lives was when they were teenagers. Other people argue that adulthood is a happier time despite the extra stress. In my opinion, adult life brings more happiness. In this essay, I will discuss both view and explain why I’m much happier as an adult.
On the one hand, being a teenager can be a lot of fun. I spent most of my time playing with my friends and thinking about girls. It was the period in my life when I had no fear and no responsibility; I wasn’t scared of the future or anything in the present. For example, I didn’t have to pay any rent or any bills or even buy my own food. As a result, I didn’t worry about any of the things adults normally worry about and my life was mostly stress free.
On the others hand, adulthood is even better than the years when I was a teenager. Even though I have more responsibility as an adult, I have a job which gives me money to pay all my bills, and I have more freedom to do anything I want. In addition, I am more confident as an adult, the older I get the more I understand who I am and what I want. Consequently, I am free and happy despite the little stresses of adult life.
In conclusion, I believe that adulthood is better than being a teenager. I can buy whatever I want, go wherever I want and do whatever I please.
