In Many countries, very few young people read newspapers or follow the news on TV. 

What do you think are the causes of this? 
What solutions can you suggest? 

Violence in the media promotes violence in society. 

To what extent do you agree? 

Many people buy products that they do not really need and replace old products with new ones unnecessarily. 

Why do people buy things they do not really need? 

Do you think this is a good thing? 

Companies spend millions each year on advertising online, in magazines and on billboards. These advertisements can encourage people to buy goods that they o not really need. 

What are the positive and negative effects of consumerism? 

The mass media, including television, radio, and newspapers, have great influence in shaping people's ideas.
