To get 79 in PTE Academic, you need more than repeated practice. You need strong speaking fluency, clear pronunciation, accurate writing, reliable listening spelling and a task-by-task plan. Start by finding your weakest score contributors, then practise the tasks that influence multiple skills, especially Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Summarise Spoken Text, Essay, Reading and Writing Fill in the Blanks and Write From Dictation.
Stop treating every PTE task equally
A common mistake is practising every task with the same energy. For a high score, you need to know which tasks are damaging your score and which tasks can lift more than one skill at the same time.
Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence and Write From Dictation are especially important because weak performance can affect more than one score area.

Most students who are stuck near the high-score range are not missing secret templates. They usually have one of five problems: unclear speaking delivery, weak listening memory, spelling errors, grammar control problems or poor time management.
The solution is not to do twenty random mock tests. It is to record scores by task, find the pattern and rebuild the weak task habits.
A simple weekly rhythm
Practise speaking every day, even for short sessions. Build spelling and vocabulary lists from your own mistakes. Review high-value listening tasks several times instead of just checking the answer once.
Every week, do at least one controlled writing practice and one score review so you know whether your practice is actually moving the numbers.
