CA ANZ states that a valid accepted English report is required for a suitable assessment and combined assessment.
Scores changed by test date
Post-7 August 2025 PTE and other equivalencies differ from earlier tables. Always match the score table to the date you sat the test.

Registration or skills assessment vs visa English
An accounting skills assessment and a visa decision are separate. A test result may need to satisfy both sets of rules, but the scores and validity conditions may differ.

What IELTS score is required for an accounting skills assessment?
CA ANZ currently publishes IELTS Academic 7.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Confirm the authority you are applying through.
Does CA ANZ accept PTE Academic?
Yes. For tests taken on or after 7 August 2025, CA ANZ publishes PTE minimums of Listening 58, Reading 59, Writing 69 and Speaking 76.
Can I apply without an English test?
CA ANZ says you may request an assessment to identify additional study needs without a test, but it will result in a not suitable outcome. Combined assessments require English results.
