IELTS One Skill Retake lets an eligible IELTS on computer test taker repeat one component—Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking—without repeating the other three. You must use an eligible test centre and take the retake within 60 days of the original test. Always confirm that the organisation receiving your result accepts One Skill Retake.
Who can use One Skill Retake?
You must first complete a full IELTS on computer test at an eligible test centre and receive your result. You can then retake one component once within 60 days of the original test.
One Skill Retake is not available from a paper test or an online-at-home IELTS test.
What happens to the other three scores?
Your new Test Report Form shows the new score for the component you repeated and carries over the other three scores from the original test.
Your original Test Report Form continues to exist, so you can choose which result to use subject to the receiving organisation's rules.
Check acceptance before booking
Acceptance depends on the university, employer, professional body or government authority receiving the result. Check that organisation's current policy before paying for a retake.
